Family Affair

I saw a posting about these beautiful family trees a few months ago on several blogs, and knew right away that we had to have one! Family, believe it or not, is number one to both Dann and I. Our goal for our wedding is to make it not only the joining of our lives, but the joining of our families. We are both proud of the people we come from, and want them to know how much they mean to us. Because we don't show it as much as we should, this will incorporate their influence!

Check out Melangerie and see all of the wonderful items!

Such a cool idea!

The one thing about a garden wedding, is that you can over use flowers and floral themes without coming off too cheesy. Today, OnceWed featured an awesome favor/place card idea. I'm not sure if it would work for mine, I mean our, day simply because I do not want to have a seating chart...I want long tables where my guest can sit and eat "family style".

The Setting

My Uncle K was kind enough to send over some "before" photos of the house. As time goes by, I will continue to post the progress on here!

He also sent me an older photo from the 40's or 50's...not sure when it was taken, but I love the family standing out in the yard.

It started with three...

And must end with one.

There are three dresses that I am totally into. They are cute, quirky, and perfect for a late spring/ early summer wedding.

Dress 1: A simple yet chic BCBG dress. Click here to see it!

Dress 2: A very girly Lily strapless dress. Click here to see it!

Dress 3: A Maggie London sequin dress. Click here to see it!
Which do you like best?

Location! Location! Location!

When D. popped the question last August, we right away agreed that we wanted to get married in San Francisco. We thought a City wedding in December would not only be fun for both families, but a wonderful time to see San Francisco. It is such a beautiful city to begin with, but imagine it full of twinkling holiday light! Oy!

We wanted to have a small family ceremony at City Hall, and then a sit-down dinner at a beautiful restaurant. We sampled a few, and loosely decided on The Cliff House.

Then, at the Ash Family Christmas, my Uncle B. and Aunt S. spoke to us about having the wedding out at the ranch. They told us their plans for renovating the house and how they wanted to not only restore it's beauty, but give it familial meaning. Of course we said YES!

So, we have put off the December 2009 date and moved it back to June 2010. It is only 6 months later than the original plan. And with the way time seems to be moving these days, it will be here before we know it!
